Davina Ferreira is an award winning poet and entrepreneur, founder of Alegría Media & Publishing that connects the world with Latine/x books & magazines.
Ferreira was born in Miami but grew up in Colombia. She is the quintessential symbol of the immigrant’s American Dream. Upon arriving in the U.S. Ferreira attended college, receiving a B.A. in Fine Arts from UC Irvine and worked as an actress at with the Bilingual Foundation of the Arts.
Later on, she attended The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London (RADA) to pursue classical acting. Ferreira then completed a Journalism Certificate at UCLA Extension and began a career in journalism, which led her to launch ALEGRÍA Magazine.
She has written 7 books to date, including her award- winning poetry collection, If Love Had A Name, winner of The Juan Herrera Poetry Award by the Latino Book Festival.
In 2020, she received the CSQ Magazine New Gen Award for entrepreneurs under 40 at the Rockefeller Center in New York City & Oprah Daily highlighted her contributions to the bilingual community through her mobile bookstore.
She is a sought-after inspirational coach & speaker; whose passion is to inspire other women to create positive impact and give back through the power of their own story.
In 2021, she participated at Harvard’s Latina Lead Conference & Google’s Women’s summit.
During 2022-2023 she published a bilingual poetry duo, Beautiful Broken Heart and Amar-me Amar-te in English and Spanish.
She is currently expanding her award winning book and magazine publishing company, Alegría and creating her own book digital coaching method for independent authors and poets of color.
Alegria Publishing was born of her passion to share Latine/x stories and support new, exciting, and emerging literary voices.
In her free time, Ferreira volunteers bringing wellness programs through creative writing, yoga and meditation for mental health awareness to at risk youth in Los Angeles County & Latin America through her non-profit, Alegría Mobile Bookstores & Arts Collective.

Ferreira nació en Miami pero creció en Colombia, y es el símbolo por excelencia del Sueño Americano.
Al llegar a los EE. UU., asistió a la universidad, obteniendo una licenciatura en Bellas Artes de UC Irvine, y trabajó como actriz en la Fundación Bilingüe de las Artes.
Más adelante, asistió a la Real Academia de Arte Dramático en Londres (RADA) para estudiar actuación clásica.
Ferreira completó un Certificado en Periodismo en UCLA y comenzó una carrera en el periodismo, lo que la llevó a lanzar ALEGRÍA Magazine.
Ha escrito 7 libros hasta la fecha, incluida su galardonada colección de poesía, If Love Had A Name, ganadora del Premio de Poesía Juan Herrera en el Festival Latino del Libro.

Actualmente está expandiendo su galardonada editorial, Alegría, y creando su propio método de coaching en línea para autores y poetas independientes.
Alegría Publishing nació de su pasión por compartir historias latinas y apoyar a nuevas y emocionantes voces literarias emergentes.
En su tiempo libre, Ferreira realiza voluntariado llevando programas de bienestar a través de la escritura creativa, yoga y meditación para concienciar sobre la salud mental a jóvenes en riesgo en el Condado de Los Ángeles y América Latina, a través de su organización sin fines de lucro, Alegría Mobile Bookstores & Arts Collective.

The Alegría bilingual platforms include Alegría bilingual magazine, a yearly print and digital vehicle; Alegría Mobile Bookstore, a traveling bookmobile that brings the joy of reading to younger generations in their own neighborhoods; and Alegría Video Series, a compilation of interviews with outstanding Latine/x arts and culture figures. Alegría also creates live events featuring brand activations and a Latine/x Book Publishing division to bring more representation to this industry,
